Wonil Sunim (H. Grevemberg) has been involved with American Zen since the late ’80s. A resident of the Providence Zen Center for several years, he also trained at Dharma Zen Center in Los Angeles and Taegosa in the Mojave Desert before moving to Korea to become a Zen monk. He recently completed training at Baekdamsa and is now a Bikkhu in the Chogye order.
As a Zen monk he finds that an introspective life lends to deep insights into the nature of life and our connection with each other. It’s the light that illumines The Zen Revolution, a semi-finalist in the Faulkner-Wisdom competition (as Perfection of a Leaf). He also produced a podcast series, an audiobook, and promotional art for this work. He wrote and produced Loss of Trust, a historical documentary short that won a Remi award from the Houston World Fest and other nominations and awards. Another End of the World was originally developed as a feature film script (SAPI3N) to follow Loss of Trust.
